Editor needed
By Brian Rowe | July 17, 2009
I need help finding an editor.
The Problem:
As most of you know I am dyslexic. I write a lot and hate the editing, what takes me 20 mins to write takes me 2 hours to edit in a private room with my laptop reading the text aloud and even then I screw up possessive, commons and homophone. I am looking for help editing blog posts, emails, resumes, letters, white papers and scholarly papers.
Limits:
I have a little money from my Google Public Policy Fellowship that I would like to use to try and set up an author/editor relations with someone or with a company. I am willing to give an editor credit, links, references and some cash. As an under employed fellow my budget is rather limited.
I have looked at both Brickwork and Professional Editing Services and like the idea of using an editing service, but have concerns with off-shoring the work through a company that might take most of the fees leaving the editor with little to nothing. I would feel more comfortable creating a relationship with an actual person or at least a company that is more transparent. If anyone has used an editing services, I would also appreciate hearing about your experiences.
Any ideas are welcome. Please feel free to forward this request to others. Please comment here or email me directly at Brian <at> BrianRowe.org .
